Beach Store Cafe Reopens on Lummi Island
Lummi Island, Washington - October 29, 2014 - The Beach Store Cafe on Lummi Island will be opening with new local owners Tess Winds-Johnson and Jason Brubaker in early November.
Tess and Jason will partner with Craig Miller, former chef at the Willows Inn (where Jason was his former sous chef), and current owner of Restaurante Mango in Panama. Craig will spend half of the year on Lummi Island and the other half in Panama. They are enthusiastic about teaming their many years experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry in a community they each hold very dear.
As a native of the Island, Tess has always had a connection to the restaurant.
“The Cafe is very near and dear to my heart and returning, in this capacity, has been a dream of mine for many years.”
West Shore Hospitality, also owner of the Willows Inn, ended operations at the Beach Store Cafe on October 11, 2014. Tess, Jason, and Craig are looking forward to bringing the Beach Store Cafe back to the community, and again becoming a place of family, friends, and great food.
“We have listened and will continue to listen. The menu will reflect the seasonal nature of our location, and we will be making decisions based upon what the community needs and wants.”
The soft opening date is November 7, 2014. The Beach Store Cafe is just north of the Lummi Island ferry landing near Bellingham, Washington. Check beachstorecafe.com for updates and progress.
