Beaker's Basement is Joe Cook's solo music project.  He's picked about fifty songs from the last quarter of a century of songwriting (yikes!) from which to display his brand of alternative rock: mostly melodic with brief moments of gritty or angular guitars.  Layering with a looping pedal makes his controlled-volume and nearly full-band sound possible.  He boasts the long-ass jam on nearly every song so you can jabber incessantly about whatever seems so dang important and not really miss anything; it’s been incorporated into the deal.  For style similarity, think B.B. King playing Sebadoh.  (
